Preface

If you haven’t gathered, this is more of a personal site than anything else. The main audience is people I already know and might point here for shits and giggles. That being said, there’s nothing stopping me from taking parts of this site more seriously, perhaps crafting more well-thought-out technical pieces, fleshing out projects, etc.

If that day comes, maybe I’ll throw in some sort of comment section or way to contact me directly. While I do love writing and throwing out ideas to the void, I equally enjoy engaging with others who bring varying opinions to the discussion. For now, that’s just friends, family, and a couple coworkers. Let’s see where this is 6 months to a year from now.

Projects

As of right now, I have a myriad of private projects that have yet to be introduced to the internet. Most of them are complete trash. While I think even the crappiest of projects are worth sharing, I’m using this site as a sort of “reset”. Newer projects, no matter how big or small, are very likely to end up on this sight. I put pacviz on here as a test, because it’s an “okay” project that doesn’t really do anything wrong or outrageous. I spent some time over a recent weekend cleaning out a lot of those old projects. Feels super nice to have a de-cluttered workspace, both local and remote. Since many of my projects are really just ways to practice and learn more about a language, software architecture, etc., I find it freeing to cleanup every once in a while. It’s like growing out of old clothing.

What’s the current focus?

For now I have a technical project or two that I’d like to add to this site. I just started one called “ghostline” that I think could be pretty cool. Could be a total flop and waste of time, but that’s the fun of it imo. Aside from that, I plan to at least get one decent blog post out per month. Shooting for technical type thoughts, we’ll see how that pans out. Despite how the majority of this post has been about technical projects and blog posts, I’m most excited for the recipe section. I want to get more into cooking / baking than I have been, and I’ve got some good ideas. I know that my family members care most about this part of the blog, if anything.
